Many, if not all, smart phones are equipped with GPS which is helpful for mapping services, but also very helpful when looking for the closest service station or cafe. When your business is added into Google Maps, apps use that data to help direct people to find you. If you’re not listed on the map, it will be harder to find you online, which means people will search for somewhere else. People are getting inherently lazy these days, those with smart phones will spend their time searching the internet rather than walking or driving around to find what they need. If you’re not online you may as well be invisible.
